Police: Grinches steal trains, Snoopy
A pair of thefts reported to police threaten to put a damper on holiday cheer.
On Dec. 18, state police responded to a report of a theft on the 300 block of Cottonwood Drive in Franklin Township.
The person who reported the theft wasn't sure when exactly the crime happened, but when Christmas rolled around they realized something was missing.
“The victim related they had multiple train sets stolen over the past 10 months,” a police report states. “The investigation continues.”
Four days later, another Western Pennsylvanian realized they were the victim of an anti-Christmas crime.
State police from the New Castle barracks handled a report of a theft at 8 a.m. on Dec. 22 in Slippery Rock Township in Lawrence County.
The theft occurred on the 2100 block of Mill Bridge Road.
“An unknown actor stole the victim's 10-foot inflatable airplane with a Snoopy pilot,” police report.
The inflatable plane was valued at $200.
