Harrisville man dies in Monday night crash
SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — A Harrisville man died Monday night as the result of injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash on Route 8.
State police confirmed Tuesday morning that the driver of the vehicle, Michael Brown, 30, died following the crash on William Flynn Highway near Boozel Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to authorities, Brown was northbound on Route 8 about 8:56 p.m. when his 2012 Ford F-150XLT crossed the roadway into the southbound lane, went over an embankment, hit a small tree and then came to rest at the base of a larger tree west of William Flynn Highway.
Emergency responders from Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company & Rescue Team and Unionville Volunteer Fire Company were on scene Monday night. William Flynn Highway was closed several hours as a result of the accident.
