Police: Woman hit boyfriend with Jeep
CENTER TWP — A woman faces a hearing next month on charges she intentionally struck her boyfriend with a Jeep before backing it up and hitting him again with the vehicle during a domestic dispute at her home on Baxter Lane in the township.
Mandy S. Campbell, 44, is accused of felony assault and other charges in the incident Thursday morning, which left the 33-year-old victim with unknown injuries, state police said.
Troopers were called around 8:50 a.m. to the defendant's home for a reported domestic dispute and found the victim. Police said he told them that he and Campbell had gotten into an argument and she struck him in the mouth and face.
He recounted that she placed some of his belongings in her Jeep. In turn, police said, he took some of his property from the vehicle and began to walk away from the home.
“Campbell then struck (the victim) with her vehicle,” according to charging documents. “Campbell then backed her vehicle into (the victim), striking him a second time. She made multiple attempts to strike him again.”
District Judge Kevin O'Donnell arraigned Campbell on a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct, and a summary charge of harassment.
She was later released on $10,000 unsecured bond and ordered to have no contact with the victim. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled Jan. 14 at the office of District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora.
Court papers identified Michael Jewart as Campbell's attorney. Jewart did not immediately return a phone call Tuesday.
