Fire partially burned a garage in Penn Township early Thursday.

The Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call around 1:07 a.m. for a fire on Oak Crest Lane off Dodds Road, according to Chief Bill Glace.

The fire started in a large crawl space on top of a garage attached to a home. Glace said about five or six fire companies helped to contain the fire, keeping it from spreading to the house.

The house had smoke damage, and the garage’s roof had severe fire damage. Additionally, water damage was reported throughout the garage due to firefighters combating the fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
