Dubovi retiring from PennDOT
Joseph P. Dubovi III, the district engineer for PennDOT’s Engineering District 10 based in Butler, is retiring after 35 years with the Department of Transportation.
A civil engineer and 1983 Penn State graduate, Dubovi has been the District 10 engineer for the past 13½ years. He has been responsible for more than 800 employees in the five counties that make up the district (Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Indiana and Jefferson), more than 6,700 lane-miles of road, nearly 1,700 bridges and an annual budget of more than $200 million. His retirement is effective Dec. 27.
Some of the major projects completed during Dubovi’s tenure include the Route 58 Foxburg Bridge over the Allegheny River, Route 1038 West Kittanning Bridge and road, Route 356 Wayne Street Viaduct, I-79 Seneca Missing Ramps, Route 228 Mars Railroad Bridge and intersection widening, Route 228/I-79 ramps, Route 422 widening and Theater Road realignment, Route 119 Grove Chapel climbing lane, Route 422 Moraine State Park access, and the Route 228 Pittsburgh Street widening.
