CAMARILLO, Calif. — The average U.S. price of regular-grade gasoline has dipped 3 cents per gallon to $2.66 over the past two weeks.

Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey says retail gas prices may continue to drop a few more pennies in late November as gasoline demand decreases when the work commute is interrupted by the holiday season, combined with seasonally inclement weather.

The average U.S. price of midgrade gasoline is $2.96 per gallon and premium is $3.20.

DETROIT — A top official of the United Auto Workers union says negotiators have made a lot of progress with Fiat Chrysler but difficult issues remain.Vice President Cindy Estrada said in an email to members Monday that negotiators have remained focused on contract talks despite what she called outside distractions.Union President Gary Jones stepped down last week, and Regional Director Vance Pearson resigned Sunday in a widening federal bribery and embezzlement probe of the union.

NEW YORK — Charles Schwab is buying rival TD Ameritrade in a $26 billion stock swap, a blockbuster agreement brought about by massive disruption in the online brokerage industry.Bowing to competitive pressure, brokerages have made it free for customers to trade U.S. stocks online. A combination of two of the biggest players in the industry would allow Schwab to save billions of dollars and make up for revenue lost from no longer charging investors commissions.The deal may draw scrutiny from antitrust regulators. The combined company would have more than $5 trillion in client assets under management.
