Active duty police officers will have the opportunity to win firearms and other prizes in the fourth annual “Backing the Blue” police officer raffle.

Sponsored by Curtin Industries in Kittanning, the raffle is open only to active duty police officers who can buy tickets for $1 at Curtis Industries, located at 105 West Park Drive, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The drawing will be held there on Dec. 17.

Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe and Armstrong County Sheriff Bill Rupert will once again draw the winning tickets.

Most of the 30 prizes are firearms, but a charter fishing trip on Lake Erie and gift certificates from Fenelton Firearms are among the bounty.

The prizes were donated by numerous businesses in Butler and Armstrong counties. The winners pick up their prizes at Fenelton Firearms.
