SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University will present “Crossing the Political Divide with Donna Brazile and Ana Navarro” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Smith Student Center Ballroom.
The event is free and tickets are not required.
“Having these two accomplished women who understand the world of politics and campaigning at SRU is amazing,” said Heather Frederick, an SRU associate professor of political science who will also serve as event moderator.
Navarro is a well-known Republican strategist and political analyst for CNN, CNN en Español, ABC News and Telemundo.
Brazile is an adjunct professor, syndicated columnist and television political commentator.
“It would be tremendous for just one of them to speak on our campus, but having both of them provides an additional dimension of political discourse,” Frederick said.
People responsible for church safety — including clergy, maintenance and buildings and grounds personnel — are invited to attend a safety presentation Tuesday at Community Alliance Church.The House of Worship Safety Seminar and Active Shooter: Preparation and Response program will be presented in two sessions at the church, 800 Mercer Road. One session runs from 1 to 4 p.m. and a second session runs from 6 to 9 p.m.There will also be an optional Stop the Bleed Training from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. Stop the Bleed is a national campaign to help improve survival from life-threatening bleeding.Those interested in attending should register online with the Butler County Emergency Services Department at www.eventbrite.com/e/house-of-worship-safety-seminar-preparation-response-tickets-76038881341.
