Tip to police results in drug charges for 5

BUTLER TWP — Suspected drugs, a woman hiding underneath a bed and another one wrapped in a shower curtain is what police said they found at a discount motel room.

Both women and a third one were also found to have bench warrants out for them, according to Butler Township Police.

In all, five people are facing hearings next month on misdemeanor drug charges stemming from the incident Oct. 26 at the Almost Home Motel on New Castle Road.

Charged are Rose M. Comly, 52, and Rae L. Holderman, 31, both of Butler; Trina M. Holderman, 30, of Pitcairn, Allegheny County; Sean D. McJunkin, 42, of Butler; and Ashlyn M. Vlassich, 33, of New Castle. All are charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Police said they went to the motel around 9:15 p.m. after they got a tip that Vlassich was in a room there. The caller knew she was wanted on a warrant.

McJunkin opened the door to the room, police said, and officers noticed Vlassich. They also saw Trina Holderman. Police took all three of them outside and they confirmed Vlassich's warrant.

While in the room, police spotted suspected crack cocaine in a pill bottle and three crack pipes on the floor, according to charging documents.

Officers also saw blonde hair sticking out from under the bed. The hair, police said, turned out to be Comly's. Police told her to come out and she did.

Noise led police to the bathroom, where they found Rae Holderman “wrapped in a shower curtain” in one of the corners, documents said.

Police subsequently learned that Comly and Rae Holderman, her daughter, also were wanted on warrants. Trina Holderman is another of Comly's children.

All five defendants denied ownership of the drugs or contraband in the room.

Police arrested Comly, Rae Holderman and McJunkin on the warrants. They were taken to the Butler County Prison on the warrants. McJunkin and Trina M. Holderman were allowed to leave the scene.

Preliminary hearings for the five defendants are scheduled for Dec. 12. Comly and Rae Holderman, authorities said, remain in the county prison.
