Police: Woman squirted liquid at city officer
A Butler woman was arrested and jailed Tuesday night for squirting liquid out of a syringe at a city police officer.
The officer was patrolling the area around the SpringHill Suites hotel at 11:30 p.m. when he noticed a car parked in a lot. He said the engine was running and he noticed Kristina Labruna, 28, slumped in the driver's seat.
The officer approached her, announcing he was with the police, and Labruna, according to reports, had a loaded syringe in her hand. She pointed the syringe at the officer and squirted a substance on the officer's face and one of his ears.
Labruna is charged with a felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of simple assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is in Butler County Prison.
After Labruna was arrested, police said they recovered the syringe along with a suboxone strip and several empty bags they suspect were used to package heroin.
The officer was treated at the Butler Memorial Hospital and will continue follow-up care, police said.
Labruna remains in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
