New county solicitor named by commissioners
An attorney from a local firm has been named the new solicitor for Butler County.
The commissioners on Monday afternoon announced that H. William “Wil” White III will be ratified as the county's new solicitor at the salary board meeting Nov. 13.
White, who is an attorney at Dillon McCandless King Coulter and Graham in Butler, replaces interim solicitor Julie Graham.
Graham agreed to step in and handle the county's legal matters almost a year ago, when former solicitor Mike English left the position to pursue other interests.
White has more than 25 years experience with various law firms and has served as solicitor for many municipalities and school districts in Western Pennsylvania, according to a news release.
He is a member of the state and local bar associations, has served on a number of nonprofit boards, and graduated from the County Commissioners Association Center for Excellence in County Government. He also coaches girls softball.
White earned his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1993, his master's degree in political science from Villanova University and his bachelor's degree in political science from Allegheny College.
He is expected to begin employment with the county in December.
