Superintendent deals with safety issue at South Butler
The South Butler County School District dealt with a school safety issue Friday that has since been resolved.
In a letter to parents, Superintendent David Foley wrote that a middle school student made an inappropriate comment to classmates that caused concern around 10 a.m. Friday.
Details about the nature of the comment were not available.
Foley said that district administrators and school police investigated the incident. The student who made the comment and the issue itself were both addressed, he said.
The school day continued as scheduled. Foley said he wrote to parents for the purpose of keeping them informed.
It was unclear whether any disciplinary action was taken against the student — whose age and grade were not available.
