Bellevue man sentenced for possessing child pornography

PITTSBURGH — A Bellevue man arrested in 2018 by Adams Township police was sentenced to four years in prison for possession of child pornography.

Christopher Morrison, 26, was also ordered to spend 10 years on supervised release, according to U.S. Attorney Scott Brady.

According to a release from Brady's office, Morrison was stopped by Adams Township police on June 20, 2018. The stop was related to a narcotics investigation, and Morrison's phone was seized as part of the investigation.

Officers found multiple child pornography images and an FBI forensics examination found more than 700 images and 11 videos depicting “the sexual exploitation of a minor,” the U.S. attorney said. They also found screen captures of Morrison browsing child pornography, the release states.

Some of the images and videos “depicted minors under the age of 12 years as well as minors who were bound at the ankles with their mouths duct-taped.”

The case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
