TOWN CRIER

The commissioners on Monday night:

- Authorized advertising for bids for a demolition project at Preston Park. Tom Knights, township manager, said a storage building and a water pump house will be torn down to make way for the project to build restrooms at the park. Knights said he hopes the project to build the restrooms will begin in May and be finished four to six months later. There is no cost estimate for the demolition project, Knights said.

- Heard a report from the township's waste hauling contractor, Waste Management, that included the recycling information from the past three months. Township residents have recycled seven tons of televisions, two tons of other electronics such as computers and monitors and one ton of latex paint. Knights said township residents must call a toll free number to schedule pickup for hazardous recyclables, but are not charged extra for the service. He said 16 tons of televisions have been picked up for recycling since January.
