Hearing set for man in marijuana growing case
JEFFERSON TWP — A hearing is pending for a 55-year-old township man for allegedly having four marijuana plants on his property.
State police said they seized two plants from the wood line Sept. 5 during a warrant search at Brett T. Carion's home on the 800 block of North Pike Road in Jefferson Township.
Police also allegedly seized two more plants from a garden behind the house. And the search turned up a marijuana pipe and marijuana bud, police said. On Sept. 24, troopers spoke to Carion during their investigation. He told them he “made a stupid mistake” and that he was “just growing the plants for someone else.”
He was arraigned Oct. 2 on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was later released on $5,000 unsecured bond.
A preliminary hearing for Carion is set for Oct. 30 at the office of District Judge Sue Haggerty in Saxonburg. Online court records did not list an attorney for him and he could not be reached for comment.
