One arrested, two sought in robbery case in SR Twp.
SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — Three young men are accused in connection with a suspected robbery at an apartment complex last month during which the alleged victim jumped out a third-story window in an apparent getaway try.
The victim, a Grove City teenager, suffered fractures and other injuries in the Sept. 17 incident at University Village at Slippery Rock.
State police arrested Aaron T. Foote, 20, of Slippery Rock Township on Wednesday. Two other suspects — Dustin J. McFadden, 18, and his brother, Gregory W. McFadden, 19, both of Slippery Rock Township — are wanted on arrest warrants issued Wednesday.
Troopers were called around 5:45 a.m. to University Village, where they found the injured teen, who was taken to Grove City Medical Center before reportedly being transferred to a Pittsburgh hospital for medical treatment.
Police said he told them that he had gone to the apartment complex with the three suspects to buy marijuana. The plan was made after he met with someone from work who he knew as “Big Meech.”
Investigators eventually identified Gregory McFadden as Big Meech, police said.
The victim recounted that he and the others drove to University Village, police said. Once there, he and Foote went into one of the apartment buildings. Gregory McFadden remained in the car.
But after no one answered the door of an apartment, the victim said, Foote and Dustin McFadden assaulted him, according to investigators.
The victim told police that he managed to get away and run up the stairs of one of the apartment buildings. Foote and the younger McFadden allegedly followed after him with crowbars.
He said he jumped out a third-story window in an attempt to flee. But afterward, according to his account, Foote and Dustin McFadden “came back down and took $140 from him,” police said.
District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Foote on charges of aggravated assault, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. He is in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bond.
Dustin McFadden is facing similar charges. Gregory McFadden is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
Online court records did not list attorneys for any of the defendants.
