Spaghetti dinner will benefit local firefighter

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser planned this weekend will benefit Tim Gold Sr., who has served as a firefighter in the county for 41 years.

Gold needs stem cell treatment for primary lateral sclerosis, which is a form of Lou Gehrig’s disease. Gold is unable to work as a result of his disease and has no health insurance or income.

Gold served as a volunteer firefighter for the Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Company for more than four decades.

The dinner will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Herman Volunteer Fire Department social hall at 789 Herman Road in Herman.

Included in the dinner is spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and dessert. Meat sauce, plain marinara and gluten-free noodles will be offered.

A 50/50 raffle, raffle baskets and a bake sale will also be held at the event.

Those who cannot attend the dinner can donate to Gold’s cause by logging onto gofundme.com and searching “Tim Gold Sr.” or by sending a check to Tim Gold Sr. P.L.S. Benefit in care of Lisa Gold, 121 McClellan Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
