Center Twp. residents ask board about missing fence
CENTER TWP — Brookstone Court residents concerned over a missing fence came with questions for Center Township's Board of Supervisors on Wednesday night.
They wanted to know when Meadowbrook Apartments will have to replace a property border fence torn down over the summer.
The fence fulfilled a boundary requirement in the apartments' development agreement, but they have been without one since July.
Residents are annoyed by foot traffic suddenly coming through their backyards, and they said they haven't heard from the township about zoning enforcement.
As the board listened, Supervisor Alan Smallwood sent a text to the township's zoning officer Patrick Gauselmann. Gauselmann has been in touch with the relevant property owners on the issue.
After supervisors agreed to further investigate Thursday, the residents, satisfied for the evening, left.
Not 10 minutes later, Smallwood held up his phone and announced an answer from Gauselmann: The apartment complex should have some sort of new barrier built between it and neighboring homes by Oct. 26.
Otherwise, the board's Wednesday business primarily involved making several small donations to charitable causes. The township made a $2,000 donation to Boy Scout Troop 30, which recently conducted a litter pickup in the area.
The Scouts, notably, found an refrigerator dumped in a creek off Glenwood Way.
David Heath of Gateway Engineers, the township's engineer, gave an update on ongoing water drainage issues at the Abie Abraham VA Butler Health Clinic.
He hasn't heard an update from the VA's developer, Cambridge Healthcare, and is awaiting word from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection on the next steps.
Work was anticipated to occur this calendar year, but construction season is growing close to an end.
