Grove Fest this weekend takes in another fall festival
This weekend, Grove City invites all to enjoy a day of fall delight. Grove Fest has absorbed Grove City Fall Festival and will be bigger than ever this year, according to organizer Ann Marie O'Rourke of Olde Town Grove City.
“We're just making Grove Fest bigger and better by taking in Fall Festival,” O'Rourke said. “We're getting the best of both worlds together.”
The annual parade will start at 11 a.m. and kick off the Saturday festival, which this year carries a theme of celebrating the holidays.
The parade begins on Pine Street, turns onto Broad Street and turns once more onto Main Street. “After the parade is when the party starts,” O'Rourke said.
From noon to 5 p.m., the festival will include live music, including local bands Treebeard Brown and Major Morgan.
The festival also will feature a children's area.
O'Rourke said there will be plenty of fall still embedded in the festival with a pumpkin patch and a lot of vendors selling fall-themed goods, foods and drinks.
O'Rourke said they chalk art idea has been expanded from last year. “We had one chalk artist last year, and that's grown to four chalk artists this year,” she said. “They'll each be drawing a different holiday.”
O'Rourke said visitors should find their favorite activities from both events.
“Our sponsors enabled us to be the event, period. We could not do this without them. We are very thankful,” she said.
