Allegheny Health Network will be hosting several screening and education opportunities this month. The following regional events are free and open to the public.

Women are invited to participate in mammograms from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday and 2 to 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at several locations in Western Pennsylvania.Saturday locations are AHN Outpatient Center at Waterworks Mall; Allegheny Valley Hospital; Bethel Park Health and Wellness Pavilion; Canonsburg Hospital; Forbes Hospital; Jefferson Hospital; West Penn Hospital (the first floor Breast Center); and Wexford Health and Wellness Pavilion (the Breast Center on Level 2).Oct. 24 locations are Allegheny General Hospital (fourth floor of the Cancer Center); AHN Outpatient Center at Waterworks Mall; Allegheny Valley Hospital; AHN Brentwood Professional Plaza (first floor); West Penn Hospital (the first floor Breast Center); and Wexford Health and Wellness Pavilion (the Breast Center on Level 2).Refreshments and giveaways will be offered. AHN is hosting talks aimed at helping women understand their risk of breast cancer. Experts will be speaking on genetic assessment, preventive screenings, diet and exercise.Speakers include Dr. D. Lawrence Wickerham, chief of cancer genetics and prevention at Allegheny General Hospital; Kyla Morphy and Jackie Hoover, clinical genetic counselors; Rachel Harken, clinical dietitian; and Judith Schaad, physical therapist.Talks will take place 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at AHN Wexford Health and Wellness Pavilion and 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at West Penn Hospital.To make a reservation, visit ahn.org/events.

SHAPE Perform is hosting a workout session celebrating breast cancer survivors, friends and family at its location on Commerce Street in Pittsburgh.Registration is 9 to 9:30 a.m. Oct. 12.
