Marching arts showcased at county band festival
The Butler County Band Festival sent waves of music through Butler's Art Bernardi Stadium, 277 Campus Lane, Wednesday night.
Nine marching bands — all of the bands from Butler County school districts plus those from Slippery Rock University and North Catholic High School — took to the field in a back-to-back showcase of the marching arts.
“It's a great way to showcase the unbelievable talents of the bands of Butler County,” said Butler band director Jeff Kroner.
As part of the evening, nonperishable foods were collected for the Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation's Kids' Weekend Backpack Program.
