2 arrested on drug charges after raid in Butler

Fentanyl, crack cocaine and more than $1,400 were seized and two people were arrested on felony drug charges following a Tuesday evening raid by county narcotics officers at a Butler apartment, authorities said.

Anthony C. Wilson, 34, of Homestead, Allegheny County, and Angela J. Staley, 25, who lives at the home on the 500 block of East Locust Street, are in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bond and $100,000 bond, respectively.

A Butler County Drug Task Force investigation into drug sales led to a search warrant for the apartment, said county Detective Tim Fennell, who spearheads the task force.

The county's emergency services unit assisted officers in executing the warrant around 6:45 p.m. They got inside and found Wilson seated on the dining room floor and Staley hiding under a bed, investigators said.

The search allegedly turned up about 1.2 grams of fentanyl, a small amount of crack, two scales, drug-packaging materials and four cellphones.Additionally, officers found $1,426, which included prerecorded official funds used in previous controlled drug buys, according to charging documents,District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned both defendants on felony charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.Staley also is charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.
