The morning sun rose to the pounding of hammers, the clink of nails, and the thud of wooden boards Sept. 21.
About 250 members of St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, built the frames to a home and two tiny veterans' houses during its Servant Day and House Build.
In partnership with the Center for Community Resources in Butler, the 1,500-square-foot house will be constructed and completed in Natrona Heights, while one tiny house will be built in Cabot and the other in Clarion County.
This is the fourth year for the event that builds fellowship and worship through service, said Brenda Fett, organizer.
