S. Butler Community Library sets 2nd annual Booktoberfest

Last year's Booktoberfest helped raise money for the South Butler Community Library. This year's fundraiser will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company fire hall at 210 Horne Ave.

SAXONBURG — Booktoberfest to benefit the South Butler Community Library will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company fire hall, 210 Horne Ave.

The second annual event is a fun Oktoberfest evening of German food, music, brews and community mingling to benefit the library, 240 W. Main St.

The evening will feature local brewed beers from Cellar Works Brewing, German dinner from The Eatery & More, brats and kraut from Thoma Meat Market, and German music by the Barons-Lite Band.

A ticket includes a brew or wine and a full dinner for $40 per person or $75 per couple.

Dinner includes chicken, bratwurst and kraut, red cabbage, spaetzle, German cucumber salad, apple strudel cake and German chocolate cake.

Proceeds from the library fundraiser support current, free programs for children and adults.

Raffle baskets are on display at the library for people who cannot attend Friday, but would like to take part in the raffle.
