Tree falls on man, who is flown to hospital in Pgh.
WASHINGTON TWP — A tree fell on a man who suffered major injuries and was flown by helicopter for medical treatment around 8 p.m. Thursday.
The 40-year-old man was cutting down a tree at the Peaceful Valley Campground when the tree landed on him, according to Assistant Chief Ryan Enscoe of North Washington Volunteer Fire Department.
The man suffered major head and leg injuries, but it was uncertain if they were life-threatening, according to Enscoe.
Enscoe said his crew was dispatched to assist in establishing a landing zone for the helicopter, which flew in from Kittanning.
He said ambulance services from Butler and Karns City moved the patient to the landing zone, set up near the North Washington Rodeo.
The man was flown to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.
