Painting in park class announcedThe Butler County Parks and Recreation Department announced a Painting in the Park course at the Alameda Park office, 184 Alameda Park Road, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.This is an introductory class. Hurting moms class to startA 10-week Hurting Moms group will run from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning Oct. 1 in the sunroom of the Butler Area Public Library, 218 N McKean St.This will be a safe and confidential place where mothers can come together to share with one another while they work through the process that will bring them freedom and healing from their pain.If interested or for more information, contact Cathy Wendling, at 724-504-7345. Kid’s Innovation offering classesSLIPPERY ROCK — Kid’s Innovation Playground, 558 Centreville Pike, a nonprofit organization devoted to bridging the gap in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics experiences for children, is offering the following classes:5:30 to 6:30 p.m. through Oct. 9, Arts and Bots for children in third through eighth grade;5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Oct. 14, Tech Tinkering for Kids for those in kindergarten to second grade;7 to 8 p.m. Monday to Oct. 14 Intro to video for grades three through eight.Spaces are open in all classes. Bird recovery hosts festVALENCIA — Wildbird Recovery is having its eighth annual Fall Migration Festival from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 22 at 120 Forsythe Road, Valencia.Attendees can meet the facility’s education birds, tour the property, watch presentations on native plants and turkey vultures, and participate in the silent auction and basket raffle.There will also be education displays on bats, honeybees and other unloved, benecial insects.Tickets are available at wildbirdrecovery.org or by mail via check.
