JACKSON TWP — A motorcyclist was injured when he collided with a pickup truck Wednesday morning on Route 68 in front of the 7-Eleven store, authorities said.

Jackson Township police did not identify either driver, citing the ongoing investigation.

The crash occurred around 5:40 a.m., police said, when the driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 30s from Renfrew, while traveling west moved into the eastbound lane to illegally pass a vehicle that was stopped for traffic in front of him.

The pickup driver, a man in this 30s from Evans City, was eastbound and turning into a shopping plaza when the collision occurred.

The cyclist was wearing a helmet and suffered unknown injuries. The other driver was not injured. The bike had to be towed.
