Knoch student sentenced for SnapChat threat
This is breaking news story — to read the full article pick up Friday's Butler Eagle or subscribe online to find out what stipulations are part of the plea deal.A judge sentenced a former Knoch high school student Thursday morning for terroristic threats earlier this year that caused a modified lockdown of South Butler County School District.Jason Bowen, 19, was sentenced to time served to one year in jail by Judge Timothy McCune. The Penn Township teen must also serve two years of probation and continue mental health treatment.Having served jail time, Bowen was immediately paroled.As part of a deal reached with prosecutors in July, Bowen pleaded no contest to one count of terroristic threats.Bowen was charged after a Snapchat video surfaced Jan. 6 depicting him firing a gun with the caption “Training for Prom Walk” scrawled over the video.
