Robert L. Steighner
Robert L. Steighner, 77, of Butler passed away on July 31 at Quality Life Services in New Castle.
Born June 21, 1942, in Butler, he was a son of the late Albert and Candace Huselton Steighner.
Robert was employed by Butler Armco Works as a steelworker. He retired in 1998, following 40 years of service.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.
Robert enjoyed golfing, gambling and various sports, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his two sons, Robert F. (Danielle) Steighner of Wampum, Pa., and Brian (Lori Mortimer) Steighner of Butler; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Alex and Zachary, along with Josh, Addison, Ally and Ava; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra L. Steighner, whom he married June 20, 1966, and who passed away April 10, 2019; and his two sisters, Doreen Steighner and Peggy Steighner Smith.
STEIGHNER — There will be no public visitation for Robert L. Steighner, who died Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler.
On behalf of Robert’s family, friends and family are invited to attend a luncheon following Mass at the parish hall.
Interment will be held at St. Michael Cemetery in Butler.
Arrangements are under the direction of Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
