United Way seeks volunteers for upcoming Week of Caring
The United Way is seeking 200 volunteers from Butler County for its 24th annual Week of Caring from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4.
Every year, the Week of Caring connects nonprofit, civic and community projects with volunteers to positively affect the most vulnerable residents throughout the county.
Week of Caring volunteers work on a variety of projects, including food and supply distribution, indoor and outdoor painting, landscaping, gardening, general yard cleanup, light construction and one-on-one interactions such as social activities for senior citizens.
Because more than 25 projects are planned, volunteer opportunities are available for every capability level.
“By hosting a weeklong event, we create an even greater impact on the vulnerable people we serve — financially struggling families, children, veterans, seniors and people with disabilities,” said Amy Franz, Butler region director at United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania. “Every job, big or small, completed in this week helps build a brighter future for the people of Butler County.”
Those interested in volunteering for Week of Caring should contact the United Way's Butler County office at 724-285-4883, Ext. 233, or email John.Furman@unitedwayswpa.org.
