Arrest made overnight in PNC Bank robbery case
CRANBERRY TWP — A Beaver County man was arrested Friday night in connection with Wednesday's robbery at PNC Bank on Route 19.
Police charged Michael R. Neppach, 40, of Beaver Falls, with robbery-threat of immediate serious injury, a first-degree felony, as well as theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, both first-degree misdemeanors.
Cranberry police Cpl. Mike Marshall confirmed Saturday afternoon Neppach was apprehended Friday night in Beaver Falls.
The FBI said Thursday the then-unnamed Neppach entered the bank, located near the intersection of Rotue 19 and North Boundary Road, at around 4:48 p.m. Wednesday. He walked up and handed the bank employee a note telling them he had a gun and demanding money, according to law enforcement.
Police suspected that after the robbery Neppach fled the bank on foot in the direction of North Boundary Road.
Neppach was arrainged overnight by Judge William O'Donnell. He is being held in Butler County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bond.
Court documents do not indicate if Neppach has an attorney.
