Suit against Seneca Valley dismissed

Remaining claims dropped due to lack of jurisdiction

PITTSBURGH - A lawsuit against the Seneca Valley School district has been dismissed following a judge's order Friday.

The suit, brought by the Flood family of Zelienople against the district and four individual families, dealt with the fallout of alleged false sexual assault claims. The case was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

In his order, Chief Judge Mark R. Hornak granted a motion by the school district to dismiss the suit.

Additionally, because there are no federal claims remaining in the case, Hornak and the court declined to exercise “supplemental jurisdiction” to keep the case at the federal level.
