Gunman robs Subway eatery in Center Twp.
CENTER TWP — The manhunt continues for a suspected armed robber who apparently dropped some of the loot after holding up a fast-food restaurant Wednesday night, state police said.
The unknown suspect, described as a white man, entered the Subway at Route 8 and Mercer Road in Center Township around 8:50 p.m. and placed an order,
He then pulled out a silver handgun, according to investigators, and ordered the employees to the floor. He demanded money to be placed in a bag.
The robber, who was wearing a black hooded Adidas sweatshirt, tan cargo shorts and a dark-colored hat, left the store with an undisclosed amount of money, believed to be less than $300, police said.
Some of the money reportedly fell out of the bag. No one was injured,
Police said the suspect was last seen on foot on Mercer Road and appeared to be headed toward Butler.
A surveillance camera captured the robber on video. Police released an image of the suspect to the media in the hope that someone would recognize him. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100 or 911.
