Armstrong County woman arraigned on drug charges

FAIRVIEW TWP — State police said they caught an Armstrong County woman with methamphetamine and ingredients to make the drug following a weekend traffic stop.

Heidi S. Hile, 39, of Perry Township is facing felony and other drug charges. She is free on $15,000 bail.

A patrol trooper stopped Hile shortly after midnight Sunday for a minor traffic violation on Fairmont Road near Route 268 in Fairview Township, police said.

She let police search her sport utility vehicle, according to charging documents, which turned up a Ziploc bag containing suspected meth.

Police said the search also turned up items commonly used to make methamphetamine, including phenylephrine and chlorpheniramine maleate tablets, and a jug of all-purpose concentrated cleaner.

Hile allegedly admitted that she buys some ingredients for a woman, who makes the drug and then gives the defendant some of it, documents said.

She was arraigned on felony charges of manufacturing and conspiracy to manufacture a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possession of phenylpropanolamine and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

She also was cited for two traffic violations.

Hile is free on $15,000 bail. She could not be reached for comment. It was not known if she has an attorney.

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 15 at the office of District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora.
