Police seek arrest of ex-husband

Man accused of ramming car

Police issued an arrest warrant for a Harmony man who failed to report to the station to meet with investigators after allegedly getting violent during a domestic dispute over dogs.

Lancaster Township Police responded to an alleged fight between Jerry B. Bodish Sr. and Ashley D. Bodish on Monday morning at a house on Perry Highway.

According to the police report, Ashley Bodish said her ex-husband, Jerry Bodish Sr., rammed his Jeep Cherokee “full force” into the rear of her car while their 17-year-old son was still inside. The confrontation began while Ashley Bodish was at the home of her new boyfriend to let his dogs out of the house.

According to the report, Bodish drove up to the house as his ex-wife was doing this and pulled into the driveway.

After allegedly hitting her vehicle, Bodish yelled to the couple's son twice to get out of the car because he was going to ram it again, according to the police report. The boy refused to exit the vehicle and Bodish responded by leaving the home and driving north toward Portersville.

When police contacted him by phone, Bodish initially said he did not know what incident the officer was talking about, and denied being on Perry Highway that morning. Charging documents report Bodish further told police he was an hour and a half away, but agreed to come to the police station to answer questions.

According to the affidavit, Bodish started changing his story when the officer on the phone told him that he would wait for him to arrive at the station. Police report Bodish allegedly told the officer on the phone that he knew his wife and son were at the home on Perry Highway, and that he was the owner of the car Ashley Bodish was driving. Police asked him how he could know this if he hadn't paid his ex-wife a visit.

”Jerry Sr. was unable to provide a clear response,” the officer wrote, adding the defendant wouldn't give the officer the Jeep's registration number.

According to the report, Bodish allegedly told police his ex-wife was mad at him for stealing her dogs and getting them groomed. When police asked him why he hadn't returned the dogs, he allegedly again told the officer on the phone that he was more than an hour away from the station.

The officer advised Bodish to report to the station with the Jeep to file a written statement. But Bodish never went to the station, according to the affidavit, thus triggering the arrest warrant.

He is charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, a simple assault and a summary charge of damaging property by operating a motor vehicle.
