Police say woman had drugs in bra

She's being held in Armstrong jail

An Allegheny County woman was busted for having a bra stuffed with suspected drugs and other contraband stemming from a recent warrant arrest in Butler, authorities said.

Brandi N. Tebay, 35, of Bairdford faces a pending hearing on misdemeanor drug charges in the case police filed Aug. 14. Two weeks earlier, city police charged her in an unrelated drug case.

An officer said he was on patrol around 8:35 p.m. July 30 when he spotted Tebay walking on South Monroe Street. Police knew she was wanted on at least one bench warrant out of Armstrong County.

She admitted to having illegal items, according to charging documents, and she subsequently pulled a hypodermic needle and small plastic baggie from her bra.

In the baggie, police said, was one stamp bag and one empty bag of suspected heroin and the medication doxycycline, for which she did not have a prescription.

The WebMD online site describes doxycycline as an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections.

A search of Tebay's purse turned up two metal spoons with suspicious residue, documents said.

Police charged her with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

On Aug. 2, police charged her with misdemeanor drug possession in connection with a June 11 traffic stop on St. Mary Street near East Brady Street.

Tebay, a passenger in the car that was stopped, was found with a morphine pill, police said.

Preliminary hearings in both cases were not immediately scheduled. She is being held in the Armstrong County Jail.
