SLIPPERY ROCK — A suspected burglar was arrested and arraigned outside the office of District Judge Bill O'Donnell on Wednesday for new charges stemming from a search of his second home.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton conducted a preliminary arraignment of Justin W. Ealy, 32, of Summit Township via video conference outside O'Donnell's office for new burglary charges and charges relating to methamphetamine possession.

State police at the courthouse said that troopers executed a search warrant at 7 Penn West Way in Allegheny Township, which they discovered was leased to Ealy.

Ealy initially appeared in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing on charges of burglary pertaining to items stolen, most notably a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Yamaha ATV, from a business garage at 150 Station Road in Mercer Township.

Ealy was arrested by police during a controlled buy, and police allegedly found more stolen items, including the ATV but not the motorcycle, at Ealy's Summit Township home.

Ealy had posted bail on July 22 following the filing of burglary charges related to the Mercer Township garage.

On July 23, state police found Ealy was renting the second home in Allegheny Township.

According to the police report, during a search of the Allegheny Township home, police found a number of stolen items, including the motorcycle taken from the Mercer Township garage, multiple tools and a generator that were reported stolen from one of Ealy's Summit Township neighbors on May 29.

Police said they also found a poorly hidden meth lab and two long rifles.

For the lab, Ealy has been charged with one felony count of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver; one felony count of operating a methamphetamine lab; and one misdemeanor count of use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail for the drug charges was set at $100,000.

State police said many of the tools found during their search were stolen from a home at 145 Portman Road during a burglary on May 29.

In relation to that burglary, Ealy is now charged with one felony count of burglary; one felony count of criminal trespass; one misdemeanor count of theft; and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.

Bail for the May 29 burglary charges was set at $30,000.

It also was noted in police records that on July 24, state police received a tip that stolen weapons were hidden around Ealy's Summit Township home.

Police found five firearms, including a .22-caliber semi-automatic tactical rifle, a .357 Magnum handgun and other long-barrel rifles.

According to state police, the weapons are connected to a burglary in Clarion County.

Ealy's charges relating to the Mercer Township garage burglary were consolidated by O'Donnell on Wednesday, and he waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

Public defender Joseph L. Smith, Ealy's lawyer, had no comment on the case or the new charges.

New charges have not been filed for Matthew J. Bowser, 29, of Allegheny Township and Leroy D. Bowser, 51, of Emlenton, who were charged along with Ealy in relation to the Mercer Township burglary.

A preliminary hearing for Matthew J. Bowser on Wednesday was rescheduled for Sept. 25 before O'Donnell. Bowser is in Butler County Prison.

The third man allegedly involved, Leroy D. Bowser, has not been apprehended.
