SUMMIT TWP, Lycoming County — A Butler man died in a one-vehicle car crash early Friday morning.

A report by Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said that Bryan Edmundson Jr., 27, of Butler was driving the vehicle when it crashed with passenger Katie Johnston, 21, of Oregon Hill, Pa.

According to the coroner’s report, Edmundson and Johnston were pronounced dead at the scene before EMS arrived with multiple blunt force and burn trauma as the listed cause.

Pennsylvania State Police of Montoursville are still investigating the crash, according to their own report.

Police said the Ford F-250 was traveling westbound on Little Pine Run Road when the driver failed to negotiate a left turn, striking an embankment and catching fire.

State Trooper Brian Siebert will conduct the investigation.
