Warrant issued for man charged in overdose death

Police have issued a warrant for Robert Denton Fugate II, pictured here following his May arrest on unrelated charges. He is accused of providing drugs to a man who later died of an overdose.

ADAMS TWP — Police have issued a warrant for a 33-year-old man accused of selling drugs that they said later killed an Adams Township man.

Robert Denton Fugate II, of Evans City, has been charged with drug delivery resulting in death — a third-degree murder — and possession with intent to deliver in connection with the April 26 overdose death of Michael Kramer, 24.

According to police, Fugate is white, 5 feet 6 inches tall with sandy hair and brown eyes. He drives a blue Honda Civic.

Police investigated Kramer's room after he was unable to be revived by CPR and Narcan and found seven stamp bags, bound with a rubber band, featuring a picture of a submarine and the words “Hunter Killer,” according to Officer Jessica Simons' affidavit.

The affidavit states that police found text messages between Fugate and Kramer that discussed Fugate's sale of heroin to Kramer.

“Additionally, Fugate later sent text messages to M. Kramer advising (him) to be careful, warning him of the high potency of the heroin and the quantity he should do,” the affidavit reads.

Police said Kramer died of a combined heroin and fentanyl overdose.

Court documents do not indicate that Fugate has been arrested, and Adams Township police could not be reached for comment.

Drug delivery resulting in death carries a maximum of 40 years in prison if convicted. Possession with intent to deliver heroin has a 15-year maximum sentence.
