Two men sentenced for selling heroine, crack
A Philadelphia man and his co-defendant were sentenced Thursday to more than a year in jail for selling heroin and crack-cocaine.
Quendell Mauri Owens, 25, and Mandi L. Gipson, 32, of Butler were arrested in October after police raided an Old Planks Estate apartment that they were occupying. Owens and Gipson faced a number of drug-related charges, and earlier this month Owens accepted a deal and pleaded guilty to one distribution charge, while prosecutors dropped the other charges.
On July 2, Gipson pleaded no contest to a criminal conspiracy charge of drug distribution.
