First Baptist High School Commencement - May 31
The commencement ceremonies for First Baptist Christian School will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church auditorium, 221 W. New Castle St.
The student speakers are valedictorian Collen Patricia Cooper and salutatorian Noah David Flatt.
Colleen is the daughter of Patrick and Cristina Cooper of Butler. She is an honor roll student and co-treasurer of the senior class. She has played volleyball for three years and has received the Most Valuable Player and Best All-Around Player awards.
Colleen plans to attend Butler County Community College to study early childhood education.
Noah is the son of Jacquelyn and David Flatt of Butler. He is an honor roll student and president of the senior class. He played soccer for three years, receiving the Most Improved Player Award his first year in the sport and the Defensive Most Valuable Player Award the past two years. He also played basketball the last two years and was recognized as Defensive Most Valuable Player this past season. He is active in his youth group and participated in last year’s mission trip.
Noah plans to attend Butler County Community College for one year for general studies and then transfer to Slippery Rock University to major in exercise science and seek a career in physical therapy.
Class officers are Noah Flatt, president; Veronica Brown, vice president/secretary; Colleen Cooper and Minji Park, co-treasurers; and Gavin Mack, chaplain.
