Track legend wins

Hall of Famer Swartzlander triumphs

SARVER — Cars finally hit the track at Lernerville Speedway Friday night.

After rain wiped out the first three weeks of racing, the show finally went on at Lernerville with track Hall of Famer Brian Swartzlander getting the win in the 25-lap Big Block Modified race.

Swartzlander held off a pair of kings to get the victory — Rex King and Rex King, Jr.

Corey McPherson rolled into victory lane in the 20-lap Pro Stock feature.

Joey Zambotti nearly bested McPherson after going off the track and having to start at the back of the field after the opening lap.

Brandon Matus won the 25-lap Sprint feature, leading almost from start to finish.

Russ King won the 25-lap Late Model feature.
