BUTLER TWP — The process has ended early.

Butler junior point guard and all-time scoring leader Ethan Morton knows his college basketball destination after two-plus years of being recruited nationally by Division I schools.

Morton announced on Twitter Thursday night he has accepted a scholarship offer from Purdue University in the Big Ten.

He averaged 27.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game for the Golden Tornado last season. Morton will enter his senior year with a school-record 1,673 career points.

“I was planning on making some college visits this summer and deciding just before my senior year,” the 6-foot-5 Morton said. “But I just completed my eight home visits and I had the feeling I knew where I wanted to go.

“I figured, why wait? Just end all of the stress and pressure now. It's been a fun process, but I'm happy it's over. I feel great about where I'm going.”
