Restaurant owner continues family tradition with new business
Theresa Crouse first taste of the restaurant business was when she and her dad opened a cafe in 2014.
She had just graduated from Costal Carolina University when they started serving up meals at Crouse's Cafe in Indiana, Pa.
“I always wanted to open one,” said Crouse, 27.
Five years later, the Kittanning native has branched out and fulfilled that dream.
She is the owner of new restaurant in the city — the Cannella Cafe at 232 S. Main St., The restaurant, which opened in mid-April, offers breakfast and lunch all day and features a full espresso menu and a variety of pastries.
Crouse's Italian family heritage inspired the name of her restaurant. Cannella means cinnamon, which is a running theme in her restaurant, she said. People can find cinnamon throughout the menu on pancakes, pastries and drinks.
Since opening, lunch has been busy and breakfast is taking off, she said.
