Woman charged after allegedly hitting boyfriend

Kelsie Parker

A Butler woman is accused of punching her boyfriend in a particularly sensitive area of the body during an argument Thursday evening at their home.

City police arrested Kelsie L. Parker, 24, after she allegedly struck the man in the groin repeatedly. The victim told police that it was a targeted attacked because she knew he had recently undergone surgery in that same area.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Parker on a misdemeanor charge of simple assault. She was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

Police said the 27-year-old victim appeared at the station just before 7:30 p.m. to report the suspected case of domestic violence.

He recounted that he and his girlfriend had been arguing since 11 a.m. that day. The argument turned violent, he said, when he tried to look at Parker's cell phone.

The defendant “grabbed him by the throat,” according to charging documents, “scratched his neck and struck him numerous times in the genitals and groin area.”

The man said he had recently had surgery on an artery in his groin.

“Parker,” he advised, “had intentionally struck this area multiple times with her fist,” documents said.

In setting bail, Stoughton also set a condition of release that Parker have no contact with the man.
