The son of a Butler County couple accused of stealing more than $1.3 million from Butler Health System is facing his own legal trouble.

Jacob Scott Roskovski, 21, was arrested and arraigned Jan. 24 on a list of felony and misdemeanor drug charges.

The Center Township man faces seven felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, six misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance, and one misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He is scheduled to appear in an Allegheny County court next week for a preliminary hearing.

Authorities said they found numerous illegal drugs — including marijuana, LSD, psychedelic mushrooms and other hallucinogenic substances — at an apartment he was renting last summer in Moon Township in Allegheny County.

According to court documents, FBI and other federal agents went to the apartment last summer as part of the investigation into his parents, Stephanie and Scott Roskovski. The couple was indicted last week by a federal grand jury on fraud, embezzlement, money laundering and other charges. On July 18, agents from the FBI, IRS and U.S. Postal Inspection Service simultaneously executed three search warrants at the Roskovskis' home on Dogwood Court in Center Township, Switchback MX property in Clay Township, and Jacob Roskovski's apartment on Polo Club Drive in Moon Township. A Moon Township police detective assisted in the search at the apartment.

The younger Roskovski was living in the apartment with a roommate. Both men were students at Robert Morris University at the time. According to a spokesman at RMU, Jacob Roskovski is still enrolled as a student at the university.

Court documents show Jacob Roskovski allowed agents to search the apartment and also provided security codes for both a safe and a locked chest in his bedroom.

An assortment of drugs were seized during the search, police said. All of the items were found in his bedroom — in the safe, the chest, a closet and a mini refrigerator.

Among the controlled substances confiscated during the search, investigators said they seized:

437 grams, or 15.4 ounces, of marijuana

Several mason jars containing psilocybin mushrooms

Ziploc bags containing blotter paper laced with suspected LSD and THC

A mason jar and a separate container with dimethyltryptamine, or DMT, which is a hallucinogenic substance similar to LSD. DMT is a white crystalline powder that is derived from certain plants found in Mexico, South America and certain parts of Asia.

435 capsules of mescaline, a hallucinogen obtained from a small, spineless cactus.

Authorities said they also found items used to manufacture some of those same kinds of drugs.

Roskovski is free on his own recognizance. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 30. Online court records list Charles Porter of Pittsburgh as his attorney. Porter did not immediately return a phone call Monday.

Roskovski's parents made their first appearance in federal court Friday following their arrest in Butler County. Stephanie Roskovski, 48, is the former chief operating officer of Butler Health System. Her husband, Scott Roskovski, 50, is an ex-Butler County detective and owner of Switchback MX racetrack, which features indoor and outdoor motocross tracks.

Stephanie and Scott Roskovski were the targets of an investigation overseen by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania. The indictment alleged that the couple fraudulently obtained money to pay for personal expenses, including vacations, home furnishings, mortgage and car payments, gifts and their son's credit card bills. They are free on $100,000 bond each.
