Marion G. Young

Marion G. Young, 71, of Eyth Road, Butler, passed away Monday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Marion was born Feb. 13, 1948, in Butler. She was the daughter of the late Donald J. Rupert Sr. and Hallie Ann Devers Rupert Anderson, and the stepdaughter of the late C.L. Anderson.

She was a 1966 graduate of Fairview Township Karns City High School, was of the Protestant faith, and enjoyed sewing, baking and Pittsburgh Steelers football.

Marion most especially enjoyed the company of her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by two children, Shannon J. “Chaka” Carbin and her boyfriend, Gordon Taggart, and Richard L. “Tucker” Young and his companion, Dana Gaillot, all of Butler; three grandchildren, Anthony Scott Carbin and his wife, Ashlie, of Parker, Shawna Lee Campbell and her husband, Chad, of Chicora, and Kayla Young of Mercer; three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Harleigh and Sydney; a sister, Donna Bortmes Garis and her husband, Dave, of East Butler; a brother, Donald Rupert of Washington; a number of nieces and nephews; and an aunt.

In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert “Skip” Young; one sister; and four brothers.

YOUNG — Friends of Marion G. Young, who died Monday, March 18, 2019, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora.A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.For more information, or to send a condolence, please visit www.hilefh.com.
