Flower power

Harold Aughton/Butler Eagle: Emily Milich-Franusich and her husband Mike have planted more than 7,000 daffodils in honor of Emily's sister, Marsha Milich.

Emily Milich-Franusich and her husband, Mike Franusich, of Butler Township have planted 9,000 daffodils over the past two years in honor of Emily's sister, Marsha Milich. Marsha Milich died in 2015 and was an organ donor. The couple planted 5,000 daffodils in the fall at what they call “Marsha's Field,” which is a 2-acre property they own at the corner of Preston Drive and South Duffy Road. “It is in bloom with daffodils, the lovely flower that renews life in the spring, reminding us all of the selfless gift of organ donation by my sister, Marsha Milich,” Emily said. “We're going to keep planting them forever or until all two acres is full of daffodils.”
