City police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found shortly after noon Tuesday at her apartment on North Main Street.

Authorities did not immediately release the woman’s name, pending notification of next of kin. Foul play is not suspected and police said they did not find drug paraphernalia at the scene.

The county coroner’s office was notified. It was not known if there would be an autopsy.

No other information was available.
