In February, Butler County’s unemployment rate fell to what analysts believe might be a record low.

County-level data released by Pennsylvania’s Department of Labor and Industry’s Center for Workforce Information and Analysis on Tuesday puts Butler County’s February unemployment rate at 3.3 percent, the lowest in the Pittsburgh area and the lowest recorded figure in the county since the center began recording in 1976.
